Artist and muralist based in Spain. Her paintings speak about a woman and her inner world: her fears, her pain, her dreams and her joys, told with humour and depth. A devoted lover of nature, she lets it into everything she paints, from forests and rivers to the women who live among them. She also creates large-scale murals for restaurants and private homes.
Hi everyone! I'm a small woman, very energetic, emotional. I love humour, love to live, love to sing, love to cook and, obviously, love to paint. I enjoy thinking, and art with a meaning.
I was born on 24 June 1981 in Leningrad, into a family of artists, and grew up surrounded by creativity, learning to paint and draw from an early age. At twelve I joined the lyceum at the Academy of Fine Arts, focusing on drawing, painting and sculpture.
In 1998 I spent a year on an art and design course at Moreton Morrell College in England. Back in Russia I studied interior design at the Academy of Art and Industry, inspired by my interest in improving living spaces. I am an interior designer both by training and by profession.
My foundation is academic. I am a classically trained artist who went on to study architecture and interior design after the Academy. This shapes everything I paint: drawing, anatomy, perspective and composition are built on a solid academic base. On top of that structure, my main drive is intuitive: a search for truth, honesty and vulnerability.
The central focus of my work is the inner world of women: their pain, fears, loneliness, fragility and strength. These are lived realities for me. I have left my homeland, started over in a new country, gone through loss and seen the impact of war. Art is my way of making sense of it, of turning silence into image.
I work in acrylic and watercolour, paint large murals, make sculpture and design costumes. I have painted murals for many of the best restaurants in Moscow and St Petersburg, as well as in Cyprus, and I work worldwide. My paintings have been exhibited in Russia, Cyprus, Spain and the United States. I am open to collaborations and international exhibition projects.
